Beautiful Fall Day

Hello everyone I am in Dubuque, Iowa for a couple of days and what a beautiful day it was. I am work with some Sisters here whos Motherhouse sits on a hill overlooking the Mississippi River. I can see Wisconsin from their front door! We weathered Rita with 12 inches of rain. That is whole lotta rain let me tell you! Lydia, you sound like me all over the place, not really sure where you will wake tomorrow. Just stay safe Big Sis! The new Whats Up program would not let me in so I somehow ended up in the Help Desk area and was able to get in here. I did try and register but it stalled. Nay Nay, CONGRATS! I want everyone to know I do miss them and I am hopeing to be back up in November sometime and would like to see everyone then. Doyla

A lazy day (I hope)

Today's the kind of day you just want to stay in bed. It's gray and dreary and no doubt it's going to rain.

Kay and I went to see that band last night. For some reason it just didn't do anything for me. They didn't sound as good as they have. St. Pat's was having some sort of festival. It lasted all day long, there were tons of people and a whole lot of kids running wild everywhere. We didn't stay too long. I was home by 10:30 and went straight to bed. Hey, I even slept in this morning.

Yvette called. She didn't mention that she had a ring on her finger, so I can only presume that Aldo hasn't officially popped the question yet. She says she doesn't really like Las Vegas. I'm not surprised; I had the same reaction myself.

Randy is in Arkansas. He left Friday. I have a feeling he's going to get rained on big time. Might put a damper on the fishing he's got planned.

I'm still reading like crazy. As a matter of fact I might try to find a good book I can curl up with today.

Congratulations Yvette and Aldo

Yvette doesn't know it yet, but Aldo will be doing the "official proposal" on their trip to Las Vegas. I just talked to him; they're at the airport waiting to get on the plane. He hasn't decided yet how, but he was thinking he'd do it on the plane in front of everyone. From what I understand, it's quite a ring he's picked out for her. However or whenever he decides I know Yvette will be surprised because she thought it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. I'm safe to post this message since she can't read it from an airplane.

I'm really happy for both of them. Yvette deserves happiness in her life, and Aldo - well I don't think I could have picked any better if I had selected him for her myself.

So, looks like we'll be planning a wedding in the near future.

Don't know what I'll be doing this weekend. I have one small job that I have to finish up. We might go hear that band play again. They're doing some kind of benefit at St. Pat's in Joliet. It's kind of gray and dreary out so it's possible the weather could put a damper on that idea.

Well I'm off. Just had to share the news about Yvette and Aldo.

Happy Friday

Three more days and I'll be finished with my job in Chicago. And boy am I ready.

Kay, Randy and I went back to the Knights of Columbus last night to watch that band (I forget their name - Vintage Wood maybe). Anyway, they truly are amazing. 4 guys and 4 guitars. Nothing else - no drums, no keyboard, and their sound would just blow you away. You know me I love music anyway. Granted it makes getting up at the crack of dawn a little more difficult, but well worth it.

I've been dieting lately, and to my surprise I'm beginning to have a little luck. I've lost almost 15 pounds though I swear I can hardly tell. Probably because I have so many more pounds to go. But hey it's a start.

Randy's Mom seems to be improving - that's good news. Apparently they've been able to get her blood pressure to stay down. Given that, I think Randy will be heading to Arkansas next week.

I'll have some news to share about Adam real soon. I'd tell you about it now, but it's time for me to head out the door.

Almost forgot - Yvette and Aldo are leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow. Aldo is taking her there for a few days - it's her birthday present. Lord knows she could stand to get away for a few days.
