All Commodes Aren't Created Equal

Okay, I'm sick to death of this dilemma.  Toilets are not all created equally.

Unless you never venture out beyond your own bathroom,  I suspect you can relate to my quandry.  I do travel quite a bit so that exposes me to many different commodes.  Let's see -- that would include commodes in the airport, commodes in a hotel room, which thankfully are most often like what we have at home.  Then there's all the different office buildings, rest areas or gas stations if you're driving, the malls, the movie theaters, and a host of other public places all of which have commodes.

Here's my question.  Why the hell can't they all flush the same?

Some toilets you have to push a handle, some flush automatically, some have a tiny little button hidden on the wall.  What makes it worse is sometimes you can't figure out which one they have.  I can't tell you how many times I've looked for a way to flush the toilet -- it drives me batty.  The automatic ones -- sometimes they don't flush right away so that causes me to think okay maybe they're not automatic.  Naturally I begin to look for a way to flush them.  I'm feeling around for a handle or a button -- nothing.  Still the dang thing doesn't flush.  So then I'm thinking, should I just stand in here and wait, or do I walk out and leave it hoping that no one walks in right after me cause I didn't flush the toilet.  And of course there have been times when the automatic ones will flush before you're even finished.  A few times that has scared the bejeezus out of me.

Can you relate to this, or do you just think I'm totally wacked?   I guess sometimes it's the little things that drives us crazy -- at least for me anyway.
